We have easy access to technology that would have blown the minds of people 20 years ago, so why does it feel like software is slower than ever? As programmers, we build off stacks of abstractions that make it easy to build stuff fast, but make our software slower for the user. But there's another way - by understanding how your computer works and how best to utilise it, you can write programs that perform better for your users. That's where Microcode comes in!
